Council is seeking to establish a new lease with an organisation to run Summer Hill Neighbourhood Centre and we want you to have input into the process. Your thoughts will assist with determining the service model and future functions of the centre.


Overview of the centre

The purpose built centre is located at 131 Smith Street within the grounds of Darrell Jackson Memorial Gardens. There are four flexible public spaces inside and currently it hosts education, health, art, fitness and other community activities.


Community input into the process

Council sought community comment on the future functions of the centre in Nov/December 2020. Read the outcome of this engagement.


Now Council is seeking community-based organisations to manage and operate the Summer Hill Neighbourhood Centre

    Did you provide feedback about Summer Hill Neighbourhood Centre? Read the Engagement Outcomes Report to find out what we heard. This information will be used, along with other research to develop an Expression of Interest (EOI) for a suitably qualified and experienced community-based tenant to operate the Neighbourhood Centre. The outcome of the EOI process will be reported back to Council for a decision.
