Leichhardt Park Aquatic Centre is about to undergo the biggest upgrade ever undertaken of an Inner West pool.

Inner West Council has released final designs for the $55 million renovation of the Leichhardt Park Aquatic Centre and wants to hear what you have to say.

With the Olympic and diving pools reaching the end of their lifecycles, Council is committed to revitalising the Aquatic Centre to serve the community for another 50 years.

This project, alongside the upcoming $40 million renovation of Leichhardt Oval located next door, will create a Leichhardt sport and recreation precinct that the Inner West community can enjoy for generations.

We want to hear what you have to say about the final design.

Share your feedback on the final designs by 31 January 2025.

Project background

Stage one:

We invited the community to provide feedback on the proposed upgrades for the children’s pool at LPAC from late November 2023 until end of January 2024. Plans for the stage one upgrades have now been finalised.

Stage two:

We are now seeking feedback from the community on the final design.

The final design will feature a new heated 50m Olympic pool and new multiuse 25m pool with a moveable floor that can be used for water polo, learn to swim, aqua aerobics and other activities. The new 50m and 25m pools will be relocated to achieve improved access and functionality.

Following public exhibition, your valuable inputs on the final design will be reported to Council for adoption in March 2025.

Works are scheduled to commence in early 2026..
