What is this project about?

In 2020 Council adopted the Leichardt Park Aquatic Centre Master Plan which guides the upgrades and improvements to this well-loved community asset for the next 10 years. The upgrades have been separated into stages.

What is included in the Stage 1 draft concept plan?

The upgrade is focused on the improvements to the children’s pool and surrounds and it includes:

  • Zero depth splash pad and toys
  • BBQ area
  • Outdoor seating
  • Modified children’s pool, reduced to 900 mm depth.
  • New shade structures
  • Visually enhanced concrete finishing
  • New glass fencing
  • New timber batten screen fencing

What happens next?

Following the public exhibition an Engagement Outcomes Report will be prepared. All those who provided feedback will be advised when the report is published. The project will proceed to tender and construction.
