At its meeting on 13 April 2021 Council endorsed for public exhibition the draft Gender Equal Representation Policy

What is this policy about?

This Policy ensures that Council has gender representation on councillor committees, boards and panels to engage fairly and equitably with all its members, in a positive, respectful and constructive manner.

It aims for Council to offer equal opportunity for all, so that it's able to meet the needs and expectations of the whole community.

This policy ensures Council:

  • has gender balance on committees, boards and panels to which Councillors are appointed; and
  • engages fairly and equitably with all its members, in a positive, respectful and constructive manner.
