Community grants and affordable venues enable community groups to deliver a variety of activities that contribute to community wellbeing. A new draft Grants and Fee Scale Policy has been developed to provide a consistent and equitable framework for how Council supports community initiatives.

What's the policy about?

The draft Grants and Fee Scale Policy applies to two major areas of Council support for community initiatives:

  • Inner West Council Grants Program: project-based grants including community wellbeing, arts, community history and heritage, environment, recreation, multicultural and resident associations.
  • Scaled fee structures for reduced or waived fees and charges: applicable to the hire of indoor venues, parks, and street closure and occupation for resident street parties. (Currently also on exhibition).

If approved, it will replace the existing policies of Inner West Council, ensuring good governance and accountability.
