At its meeting on Tuesday 13 February 2024 Council endorsed the revised Community Gardens Policy for public exhibition.

What is this policy about?
Community gardens are places for people to grow food, create habitat and connect with nature and their local community. The policy provides a framework for Council to support community gardens.
What has changed?
There were minor changes to the policy. The table below outlines the changes.

Section 7.4 Access and inclusion | The text has been expanded and restructured to reinforce the importance of access and inclusion and to distinguish between site access, accessibility and social inclusion |

Section 7.7 Risk management and insurance | The requirement for groups to register with NSW Fair Trading as incorporated associations, at minimum, has been made clearer. Changes have been made to ensure the policy aligns with Council’s insurer’s requirements |
