What is this policy about?

Community gardens are places for people to grow food, create habitat and connect with nature and their local community. This policy brings together the previous councils' community gardens policies and procedures into a single Inner West Community Gardens policy. The policy provides a framework for Council to support community gardens and has been developed in consultation with local community gardeners.

Have your say

We invite community members to view the draft policy and guidelines and provide feedback.

  • Online, by completing the Community Garden policy feedback form.
  • By mail, addressed to Inner West Council, PO Box 14, Petersham 2049

Last day to provide feedback is Wednesday 9 September 2020

What happens next?

Your feedback will be reviewed by the project team and where relevant incorporated into the policy and guidelines. The elected Council will make a decision to either adopt the draft policy as exhibited; adopt the policy with changes; or not adopt the policy. Everyone who provides feedback will be notified when the policy is being considered by Council.
