At its meeting on Tuesday 9 February 2021 Council decided to seek community's feedback about the change in access to Court two at Cohen Park tennis courts.
Background
Currently, the Leichhardt Tennis Academy has a commercial licence to run coaching sessions from court one during NSW School terms on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday between 3.30-6.30pm. Due to Covid 19 social distancing requirements the students attending the classes require more physical space to participate.
What is happening now?
The Academy is seeking Council's permission to temporary use court two for Terms one and two of 2021, on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday between 5.15p-6.15pm. This will mean that the community will not be able to use court two during this time.
The outcomes of community feedback will be reported to the Elected Council for decision.
