Council adopts Plan of Management and upgrade starts

Following the adoption of the Tempe Reserve Plan of Management on 27 October 2020 and the approval of the construction tender, Council is starting construction on the following upgrades:

  • New synthetic multi-purpose sports field
  • New turf for the natural turf sports fields
  • Irrigation upgrade to natural turf fields
  • Stormwater drainage upgrades including stormwater harvesting to service the amenities block
  • sports field lighting upgrade
  • Tree planting

Work will be finalised in July 2021, weather permitting. The sports fields will be closed during the time. Noise and disruption will be kept to a minimum in the hours 7am - 5pm.

What happens next?
The remaining upgrade works in the Master Plan will be progressively implemented over the next ten years. Keep up-to-date at Council works page

Also happening in the area: Dog off-leash park temporary relocation
During construction of Sydney Gateway, the new toll-free connection from the Sydney motorway network to the airport precinct and beyond, the dog off-leash park will relocate to near the Village Green. The temporary dog park will have two areas - one for small and one for larger dogs - as well as rubbish bins, drinking fountain, fencing and lighting. Updates will be posted in Tempe Reserve, Sydney Gateway web portal, Council website and on social media posts. Council and Sydney Gateway are working together to provide more open space in Tempe.
