Local Traffic Committee recommendations 18 November 2024
In November 2024 the Local Traffic Committee discussed a report including community feedback and Council Officer recommendations on this proposal which were:
1. That the proposed three-month trial of timed permit parking restrictions on Thornley, Cary, Renwick, Ruby and Junction Streets, and Warren Road not proceed due to the lack of community response and support.
2. That the proposed ‘2P 3pm-9pm Mon-Fri; 4P 8am-6pm Sat-Sun’ restrictions on the western side of Richardson Crescent south of Carrington Road be installed as shown in Attachment 2.

What is happening now?
We want your feedback on a plan to change parking rules in your area.
What is being proposed?
Thornley Street
Introduce a Resident Parking Scheme (RPS) ‘2P 8am–6pm Mon–Fri Permit Holders Excepted Area M2’ on the eastern side of Thornley Street from Premier Street to number 68 Thornley Street.
Cary Street – two options are being proposed
Both options include an introduction of Residential Parking Scheme ‘2P 8am-6pm Mon-Fri Permit Holders Excepted Area M2’ on the northern side between numbers 69 and 103a with one option also incorporating 90-degree angle parking between numbers 89 and 103a (creating approximately 23 spaces).
We also want to add time-limited parking in these areas:
Carrington Road
Introduce time limited parking ‘2P 3pm–9pm Mon–Fri; 6P 8am–6pm Sat–Sun’ on the eastern side of Carrington Road (between Richardson Crescent and Premier Street).
Richardson Crescent
Introduce time limited parking ‘2P 3pm–9pm Mon–Fri; 6P 8am–6pm Sat–Sun’ on the southern side of Richardson Crescent (east of Carrington Road, next to Mackey Park).
