Council has developed a 10-year Plan of Management for our neighbourhood and pocket parks across the Inner West Local Government Area. This combined plan outlines current and future uses, development and maintenance of 212 parks. Each park has been individually assessed and details for each park may vary.

We are inviting you to provide your feedback on how we propose to care for these parks over the next 10 years.

A Plan of Management (PoM) is a strategic document providing a planning and management framework for the future use, development and maintenance. While PoM is a requirement for all community land owned by Council, it also presents an opportunity to engage with the community and create a vision and values that are consistent with the needs of the current population and establishes how the park can be used in the future.

A pocket park is a small park that has minimal or no assets.

A neighbourhood park is usually used by residents within the immediate vicinity. They can have play equipment and normally has furniture.

Back in 2019 we sought the feedback from the community about what they liked and what improvements they would like to see in neighbourhood and pocket parks.

The feedback captured informed the draft Plan of Management.

Read about the initial consultation here.

There are 18 neighbourhood and pocket parks that include Crown Land. In order to publicly exhibit a plan of management for these parks, NSW Crown Land needs to approve the draft plan.
