We have completed the first stage of our $2 million upgrade to Mort Bay Park with the delivery of a new playground area and improved pathway lighting throughout the park.

Improvements to the playground include:

• New boat-themed play unit with a slide and climbing wall
• Inclusive swings for all ages, and monkey bars
• An interactive waterplay area
• Sensory play with musical chimes and a sandpit with excavators
• A nature play area with timber steppers and balance beams
• An additional shade sail, BBQs, and seating

During the design and development phase, the following elements were added to the final design that were not included in the draft concept plan:

• BBQ
• Picnic tables

Additionally, some features from the draft concept plan were replaced to enhance play value:

• The archway was replaced with monkey bars
• The elevated net was replaced with a lookout

The second stage of upgrades will commence soon and include:

• A new toilet block near the playground and ferry terminal
• A multipurpose playing court
• Improved park drainage
• Outdoor gym equipment.

The multipurpose court is scheduled for completion in November 2025.

The remaining upgrades will be completed in by June 2026 (weather permitting).
