Making parking fairer in Croydon

Background

In response to a number of concerns received from the community about parking, Council has commenced a Parking Study for the Croydon area.

The Study area is located in the Ashfield Ward and bounded by Church Street, Frederick Street, Liverpool Road and the common boundary with Burwood Council. Please refer to the map of the Croydon Parking Study area PDF.

The aim of the Parking Study is to:

  • Understand the current parking situation and issues
  • Reflect the needs and desires of the community to manage parking
  • Develop an effective parking management strategy

Your survey answers, along with data collected onsite from a parking occupancy survey and other relevant information will be used to develop a draft Parking Management Strategy for the Croydon area. We will also liaise with Burwood Council to ensure parking strategies between the two Councils areas are integrated and complimentary.

The draft Parking Management Strategy is expected to be placed on public exhibition in June 2019 for further feedback before it is considered by Council. If the Strategy is adopted by Council, implementation will commence along with notifications to the nearby area.

All those who provide feedback will be advised when the Strategy is considered by Council.
