How did we get here?

A report on the draft Development Control Plan by Council officers was considered by Council at its meeting on 3 August 2021. The Council deferred the making of the DCP to obtain comments from Council Architectural Excellence Design Review Panel as required by the Environmental Planning and Assessment Regulations.

The Planning Proposal Leichardt LEP 2013 Amendment no 20 was made on 26 November 2021. This required a Development Control Plan to be in place for the site.

Council decision

On Tuesday 6 December Council noted consultation report and endorsed the Development Control Plan.

Read the resolution below

  1. Note the engagement outcomes in response to the public exhibition of the site-specific Development Control Plan amendment to Leichhardt Development Control Plan (DCP) 2013 for 36 Lonsdale Street and 64-70 Brenan Street, Lilyfield as detailed in Attachment 3;
  2. Endorse the amendments to the Leichhardt Development Control Plan 2013 for 36 Lonsdale Street and 64-70 Brenan Street, Lilyfield as outlined in this report and contained in the DCP in Attachment 4; and
  3. Officers be authorised to make any minor amendments to correct any minor errors, omissions or inconsistencies prior to finalisation of the Development Control Plan amendment.

Next steps

Once administrative amendments have been made to Leichardt Development Control Plan. Council will publish notice of its adoption of the site specific Development Control Plan.
