Project updates

Project details

We’re designing a fourth play area at Algie Park, Haberfield. The park already has three play areas, which cater to different ages and abilities. We have allocated $110,000 to create an additional play area. What do you think is missing?

A child wearing a black eye mask is swinging on the monkey bars. He is smiling.

New play activities can include:

  • Monkey bars
  • Climbing
  • See-saw
  • Nature play
  • Imaginative play
  • Equipment for older kids
  • and more - we're open to your ideas

What's already been decided?

  • Existing equipment will be kept, including: the swings (two seats and the nest), rockers, hangout station and multi-play unit
  • New rubber soft fall will be installed however, the cracked soft-fall caused by tree roots will be removed and replaced with mulch
  • If budget allows, a new path to the toddlers playground will be installed to improve pram access

Other upgrades happening at Algie Park

  • Lighting upgrade to include two new light poles with LED fittings. We’ll update the community closer to construction
  • Touch-ups to the pain on other play equipment that is in good condition
