Council is examining on-street parking in Wellington Street to improve traffic flow at the signalised intersection at Victoria Road, Rozelle. Currently the road layout in Wellington Street features a single lane which expands to three lanes of traffic at the last 30 meters leading onto Victoria Road.

What does this proposal include?

The proposed changes will improve vehicle storage and provide more opportunities for vehicles exiting Wellington Street during a green signal phase at Victoria Road. In addition, the number of on-street parking will not change for the proposed changes presented.

Three options are proposed for traffic arrangements:

  • Establish approximately 33m length of 'No Parking 6am-10am Monday-Friday, 2P 10am-6pm Permit Holders Excepted Area R1'.
  • Relocate the existing school service 'Bus Zone' and the current '2P 8am-6pm' Permit Holders Excepted Area R1'.
  • Retain existing signage configuration.

Two options are proposed for parking arrangements:

  • Extend 2P operational hours from '8am-6pm' to '8am-10pm' (regardless of traffic arrangements above).
  • Retain existing parking restrictions (including impacted sections above).
