What happens next?

Following the public exhibition period a report including your feedback will be brought back to Council for consideration to adopt. All those who provided feedback will be advised when the report will be considered by Council.

At its meeting on 19 May 2026 Council endorsed the draft Watercraft Management Policy for public exhibition.

What is this policy about?

It is Council’s objective to ensure that watercraft is managed in a manner which is safe and appropriate to the local environment and surrounding community.

This policy addresses the application, approval and potential removal process of those residents and non-residents who store their watercraft in Council Parks.

The purpose of this policy is to enable the appropriate management of watercraft left unattended or stored on Council foreshores whilst also maintaining safe public access and minimising environmental impacts.

This policy applies to all residents and non-residents who have a valid licence to keep their watercraft in Council watercraft racks.
