1. When can I remove a tree on my property?
You do not need Council permission if the tree is
under 6m, narrower than 300mm diameter at ground
level or under 3m canopy spread.
You can also remove trees by application to
Council that are:
• Growing within 2m of a dwelling house or garage
• Weed species
2. When can I prune a tree on my property?
You need Council permission to prune trees over 6m,
wider than 300mm diameter at ground level or over
3m canopy spread.
You do not need Council permission to prune
branches within 3m of a roof, up to 2.5m from
ground level. You can also prune dead branches
or weed species.
