What is this strategy about?

The recreation strategy is an overarching and measurable set of strategic priorities which are focused on enabling and encouraging active recreation, and addressing key deficiencies and gaps in recreation and open space provision.

A key aim of the strategy is tackling the problems associated with inactivity and identifying and addressing, gaps on recreation provision across the Inner West. The strategy outlines an integrated approach to encouraging active lives through partnerships with schools, evidence-based recreation infrastructure and community based strategic planning. In addition, the strategy is committed to encouraging recreation opportunities across the ages and ensuring residents and key workers have access to quality open space.
