Project updates

The proposed ‘90 degree angle parking rear to kerb’ was adopted for section in Rayner Street, north of Eric Street only. South of Eric Street did not received majority support hence was not implemented at this stage.

Project details

Council has received requests for angle parking in Rayner Street, Lilyfield north of Lilyfield Road to increase the existing parking supply for residents.

Rayner Street is wide enough to support 90o angle parking on one side of the street and a recent parking investigation shows that there is demand for additional parking.

Therefore, it is proposed to convert a section of existing parallel parking by signposting on:

  • The eastern side of Rayner Street, north of Eric Street to 90o angle parking, vehicles under 6m only.
  • The western side of Rayner Street, south of Eric Street to 90o angle parking, vehicles under 6m only.

The proposal is shown is expected to result in 14 additional standard vehicle parking spaces. Existing parking restrictions such as timed-restricted permit excepted parking and No stopping zones will remain in place.
