Wicks Park is a popular community space where families gather to enjoy a BBQ or picnic, children can play, and locals can enjoy a game of tennis.

We want to hear from you about the proposed options to improve Wicks Park to ensure our final plan reflects the community who use this space.

In 2024, we asked the community about what improvements they would like to see at Wicks Park in Marrickville. Your feedback along with research and expert advice informed the 10 year draft Plan of Management (PoM) and Master Plan.

Your feedback along with research and expert advice informed the draft Plan of Management and Master Plan.

  • A Plan of Management (PoM) is a guiding document which directs the future planning, management and use of the park.
  • A Master Plan outlines the vision and actions required for improvement over the next 10 years.

Features of the Master Plan

  • Option One

    • Keep the current tennis courts and fences and upgrade its surface.

    • Move the tennis store and entry area so they’re not near the big tree.

    • Put the new playground, picnic spots, and community facilities together in the middle of the park.

  • Option Two

    • Turn the tennis courts so they fit better with nearby buildings and create more space along the park’s eastern edge.

    • Place the tennis store and entry area next to the new picnic spots and community facilities.

    • Add a new playground with a big grassy area in the centre, making the space more flexible.
