The planning proposal, seeks to make two minor amendments (changes) to Ashfield Local Environmental Plan (LEP) 2013.

Key features of the planning proposal

The proposed changes to the current planning controls in the Ashfield Local Environmental Plan (LEP) 2013 are:

• Delete from Schedule 2 - Exempt Development the clause that allows without Council approval minor external work to buildings and sites which are in Heritage Conservation Areas or Heritage items.
• Add to clause 4.1 A (2) that Heritage items cannot have small lot subdivision

What happens next?

After the exhibition closes, your feedback will be reported to Council which will determine whether or not to further progress the planning proposal to the final stage of the process which leads to amending the Ashfield LEP 2013. Anyone who makes a submission will be notified of the Council meeting.

The Department of Planning and Environment issued a Gateway determination on 18 April 2019 and Council has been given delegation as the Planning Proposal Authority for the making of the LEP.
