Nestled at an intersection of two quiet residential streets and surrounded by Child and Youth service providers including Marrickville High School, Jarvie Park is a popular open space that includes picnic tables, play equipment and a basketball court.
We have developed a draft 10-year Plan of Management and Master Plan and we want to hear your feedback on how we propose to care and manage this open space for the next 10-years.
Back in April and May 2024, we asked you about what you liked, did not like and what was missing at Jarvie Park.
Your feedback along with research and expert advice informed the draft Plan of Management and Master Plan.
- A Plan of Management (PoM) is a guiding document which directs the future planning, management and use of the park.
- A Master Plan outlines the vision and actions required for improvement over the next 10 years.
Features of the Master Plan
The proposed features include:
- Upgrade playground with modern, accessible equipment for all ages
- Build new community amenities building
- Improve lighting, level paths, and upgrade signage
- Add covered picnic areas and dedicated BBQ spaces
- Create gardens and biodiversity zones with bird and possum boxes
- Resurface basketball court with multi-purpose markings, new hoops, and sound mitigation
- Review and improve parking around the park
- Engage local artists and collaborate with youth services.
