Project details
Birchgrove Park is a valued waterfront open space that provides opportunities for recreation, relaxation and community use.
We are developing a 10-year Plan of Management and Master Plan and we want to hear your feedback to help inform the plan. Let us know what is working well, what can be improved, and your ideas for the future of the park. We are also seeking feedback on watercraft storage facilities and the future replacement of the existing wharf infrastructure.
The potential locations of the wharf infrastructure are show below:
- Red pin - potential pontoon location
- Blue pin - potential watercart storage location
A Plan of Management is a useful tool to provide strategic planning and governance for the management and use of land. The plans set out objectives and performance targets for community land and promote active land management.
Councils are required to develop plans of management under Local Government Act 1993.
A Plan of Management (PoM) is a strategic document that provides a framework for the future use, development and maintenance of public land. While a PoM is a requirement for all community land owned by Council, it also provides an opportunity to engage with the community to develop a shared vision and set of values for the space. The Plan of Management helps ensure the park continues to meet the needs of the community while establishing how the land may be used, managed and improved in the future.
