Project details

Council received a proposal from local community group, Petersham Park Community Garden Inc, to establish a community garden in Petersham Park.

The proposed location of the garden is in the eastern corner adjacent to the Station Street entry to the park

Petersham Park Community Garden - Vision

Petersham Park Community Garden Incorporated’s vision for the community garden is “to create a welcoming and inclusive space where local community members can:

  • Grow fresh, healthy food
  • Share gardening knowledge and skills
  • Foster biodiversity and a diverse local ecosystem
  • Spend time together, learn from one another, and build community connections

The garden is intended to support the wellbeing of local residents, workers, and visitors by providing a productive, social, and environmentally sustainable place within Petersham Park.”

The site plan is indicative only and gives an idea of the types of structures that will be installed.

Next steps

Council will review all feedback and prepare an Engagement Outcomes Summary.
