Many people form deep connections with their pets, and losing a pet can be a significant experience. During previous consultation on the temporary relocation of the Johnson Park off-leash area, community members suggested creating a dedicated space where people can remember and reflect on their pets.

As part of the Johnson Park upgrade, Council is seeking feedback on a proposed pet reflection area and its preferred location within the park. Share your thoughts and help shape this special community space.

Design details

'Hold Tight' captures a playful and familiar moment between a dog and its owner, the instant a simple game of fetch turns into a tug of war. The dog grips the frisbee and pulls back, transforming the exchange into an act of energy, resistance, and joy.

The sculpture is designed for interaction. Visitors are invited to step in, hold the frisbee, and become part of the moment, creating a direct and personal connection with the work.

'Hold Tight' reflects on the bond between people and animals, one built through play, trust, and shared moments of spontaneity.
