Project details
Council is proposing to harmonise operating hours across all of its libraries.
About the project
Council reviewed operating hours of its libraries and is proposing some changes to opening hours. This will help to ensure consistency and make it easier for customers to recall library operating hours across the eight libraries in the Inner West.
The table below shows the proposed library operating hours.
Opening days/hours | Branch Libraries – Ashfield, Balmain, Leichhardt, Marrickville | Neighbourhood Libraries – Emanuel Tsardoulias, Haberfield, Stanmore, St Peters |
Monday – Wednesday | 9am-7.30pm | 10am-5.30pm |
Thursday | 9am-7.30pm | 12noon-7.30pm |
Friday | 9am-5.30pm | 10am-5.30pm |
Saturday | 10am-5pm | 10am-4pm |
Sunday | 10am-5pm | Closed |
Should the proposed changes to the opening hours go ahead there will be an increase of 19 operating hours across the service. Libraries would remain open for events that go beyond the proposed opening hours such as author talks.
