Background
The Marrickville Town Centre is focused around the intersection of Marrickville and Illawarra Roads and the surrounding laneways. It also includes the section of Petersham Road from Marrickville Town Hall to Illawarra Road.
Marrickville train station and local businesses bring people to the area and make it a bustling centre. It has a thriving and multicultural business community which includes shops, food outlets, cafes and bars. Marrickville Town Centre also has a large variety of housing including single dwelling, town houses and apartment buildings.
What's happening now?
Council is developing a 10-year plan to upgrade streets, laneways, plazas and other public spaces. Members of the community are invited to contribute to the development of this plan by telling us about your experience of the Town Centre.
Along with information already gathered through previous studies, the feedback you provide will help Council understand what needs to go into the plan and how to prioritise the work it outlines.
