Project details

Inner West Council is updating the cycle path on Marrickville Road East, between Gleeson Avenue (Sydenham Station) and Meeks Road.

This is part of the Southwest Metro Active Transport Link project, connecting Sydenham Station to Dulwich Hill, and will be delivered through the Sydney Metro Sydenham to Bankstown upgrade.

The cycle path will link with the existing St Peters cycle route (Princes Highway to Mary Street) to Sydenham Station. It is also slated to connect with the proposed cycle path upgrade from Darley Road, Newtown to Sydenham Station, as outlined in the Marrickville Masterplan.

We have developed the concept design for the Marrickville Road East cycle path and want to hear your feedback.

In September 2018, Inner West Council adopted the final Masterplan for the Marrickville Road (East) Public Domain Project. The project aims to improve active transport between Marrickville Town Centre and Sydenham Station by creating a safe and pleasant environment for pedestrians and cyclists.

The Marrickville Road East design aligns with the adopted Masterplan and has been developed in consultation with relevant authorities and stakeholders. This concept design is now open for public comment.
