Inner West Council has developed a draft 10-year Plan of Management and landscape Master Plan for Marrickville Parklands including golf course, Dibble Avenue Waterhole and AB Crofts Playground. These beautiful parklands will remain in community ownership for perpetuity.
Areas covered by the plans - click on image to view in more detail
Background
During May and June 2018 Inner West Council completed community engagement on the current use and future vision for the Marrickville Golf Course and the Dibble Avenue Waterhole. The draft Plans were publicly exhibited in June 2019.
In September 2020 Council decided to maintain an 18 hole golf course and revise the Draft Plan of Management accordingly, prior to referring its Crown land components (generally the area described as Riverside Park) to the Minister for Water, Housing and Property for owners consent. Read the full Council resolution.
What is happening now?
At the September 2020 meeting Council also noted that on receipt of owner’s consent by the Minister, the draft Plan will be exhibited again for 28 days and brought back to Council for adoption. Consent has now been granted and we are providing one final opportunity for community comment.
