What's your best plan to improve our main streets?

We're looking for businesses and organisations to come together in partnership to suggest how their main street can be revitalised. These proposals will include real plans to deliver results such as improved occupancy rates, regular activations and events, and involve residents in increased activity.

The program is open to local businesses, main street property owners, chambers of commerce, community/resident and arts organisations to suggest and deliver revitalisation plans.

There's a total fund of $7.5M available for projects such as street furniture, art works, decorations and infrastructure in our main streets. Council will deliver the improvements but the plan, the activation and community involvement will be provided by the partnerships.
Note - the Main Street Revitalisation Program is not a grant program. Inner West Council has a comprehensive grants program and you can read more here.

Council has identified funding in the 2023/2024 budget process for main streets to be provided with up to $1.5 million each in capital works improvements. However ideas for smaller funding amounts are very welcome too, such as street furniture, art and decoration or infrastructure works.
