Between 4 September and 1 October 2023, we sought your submissions on the Macarthur Parade Heritage Planning Proposal.

Key points on the consultation include:

• the Your Say Inner West project paged was viewed 260 times
• the draft strategy was downloaded 95 times
• the public exhibition of the planning proposal was promoted through letters to property owners, onour website
• 48 online submissions were received
• 13 email from inidividuals

38% of respondents supported the heritage protection

Highlights include:

• Restricts future intensification, housing supply and affordability
• Sustainability concerns with having carbon intensive buildings on site
• Supports heritage value, character, and a sense of place
• Limits property owner’s ability to modify and extend homes
• Will have a financial or other burden on property owners
• Evidence base - questionable heritage value, substantial changes to heritage building
• Feedback on consultation process
• Listing should be constrained to house to enable rear yard development

At its meeting on Tuesday 5 December, Council will consider a report including community feedback on this Planning Proposal.
