Background
The NSW State Government is funding local streetscape improvement projects linked to the Parramatta Road Corridor Urban Transformation Program. These local projects will be planned and delivered by Council. The projects aim to build on the existing strengths of the neighbourhoods and reflect their sense of place and character.
In mid 2018 and early 2019 we have completed community engagement for all locations identified in the Master Plan. View the Engagement report.

Hard copies of the documents can be viewed at Leichhardt Service Centre, 7 to 15 Wetherill Street and Petersham Service Centre 2 to 14 Fisher Street.
Feedback closes on Monday 1 July 2019.
What happens next?
The feedback received will be incorporated into the final draft plan where possible and considered by the elected Council. All those who provided feedback will be advised of when the plan is considered by Council.

Improvements to your streetscapes - detailed designs June 2020

- an enhanced pedestrian environment of wider footpaths and raised pedestrian accessible crossing points, providing improved amenity and connectivity for all users.
- Raised thresholds will also allow for consideration of a reduced vehicle speed in this section, which is a further benefit to cycle and pedestrian users.
- Revitalisation of a leafy green pocket park, with improved access along the Johnston’s Creek corridor provided through creation of a shared path linking through to the new Chester street footbridge, and improvements to visibility and passive surveillance through uplift and thinning of existing tree
Pyrmont Bridge Road
The Pyrmont Bridge Road cycleway is expected to be completed by mid 2023. We will update you on this part of the project when the designs are near completion.
