Improvements to your streetscapes - detailed designs June 2020

We are implementing the Streetscape improvements Master Plan. The detail designs have been prepared to 90% completion to show the extent of the upgrades. Construction is expected to start in November 2020.

  • An improved off-road cycle link, addressing the missing link in the Johnstons Creek cycle network, between Inner West and City of Sydney Council cycle recreational corridors.
  • an enhanced pedestrian environment of wider footpaths and raised pedestrian accessible crossing points, providing improved amenity and connectivity for all users.
  • Raised thresholds will also allow for consideration of a reduced vehicle speed in this section, which is a further benefit to cycle and pedestrian users.

  • Revitalisation of a leafy green pocket park, with improved access along the Johnston’s Creek corridor provided through creation of a shared path linking through to the new Chester street footbridge, and improvements to visibility and passive surveillance through uplift and thinning of existing tree

Pyrmont Bridge Road

The Pyrmont Bridge Road cycleway is expected to be completed by mid 2023. We will update you on this part of the project when the designs are near completion.
