Eligibility for resident parking permit is as follows:

• Proof of vehicle registered at the property is required for resident parking permit application.
• One visitor parking permit will be offered per eligible property.
• Dual occupancies, multi dwelling housing and residential flat buildings, subdivisions into two or more lots and strata subdivision of residential flat buildings approved after January 2001 are not allowed to participate in a RPS as off-street parking should be provided in accordance with Council’s parking development control plan DCP.
• Parking permits are not available for boats on trailers, box trailers, caravans, buses and trucks (i.e., vehicles greater than 3 tonnes GVM).

Your property may not be eligible for visitor parking permits due to the availability of visitor parking within the premises of your building. Your application may be considered if further evidence is provided (such as a letter from Strata management along with approved plans re: no visitor parking within premises).

If you think your neighbour should not be eligible for parking permit, please provide a picture or the serial number on the permit. Council officers can investigate and take necessary action. Furthermore, Council sometimes would review the parking allocation on case-basis and consider granting a temporary parking permit under special circumstances.

A letter from the Department of Housing regarding the available parking within the area is required before parking permits can be allocated.

Motorbikes can park in the area without a permit.

Apartments and multi dwellings are not eligible to apply for visitor parking if there is visitor parking within the premise.

The NSW 2014 Road Rules state that a ‘driver must not stop on a road within 10 metres from the nearest point of an intersecting road at an intersection without traffic lights, unless the driver stops:

• (a) At a place on a length of road, or in an area, to which a parking control sign applies.
• (b) If the intersection is a T-intersection along the continuous side of the continuing road at the intersection.
