Resident letter
Project details
We want your feedback on a proposed changes to parking on James Street, Leichhardt.
Why are we proposing these changes?
Council has received requests from residents to look at parking on James Street.
We carried out parking surveys in this area. The results showed that parking is often very full, especially during busy commuter times.
What are we proposing?
James Street (South) - between Allen Street and William Street
- Council proposes to remove the current ‘2P 6pm–10pm, Permit Holders Excepted, Area L1’ parking restrictions.
- This would be replaced with ‘2P 8am–10pm, Mon-Fri, Permit Holders Excepted, Area L1’ restrictions.
James Street (North) – between William Street and Darley Road
- Council proposes to introduce a new ‘2P 8am–10pm Mon-Fri, Permit Holders Excepted, Area L1’ parking scheme in this section.
As part of this proposal, Council must also install ‘No Stopping’ zones at all intersections, if they are not already there, as required by NSW Road Rules.
You can see the proposed changes below.
