Improving Staff Parking at Royal Prince Alfred Hospital

The State Government is proposing to build a nine storey car park at the Royal Prince Alfred Hospital (RPA Hospital), Church Street, Camperdown. The car park will be available to hospital staff, accommodate 996 cars and operate 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

Background

This project is in response to the ongoing redevelopment of the RPA Hospital Precinct. It will provide for replacement of staff parking and aid in the support of recent and ongoing growth of hospital facilities.

This project aims to :

  • Expand the RPA Hospital Precinct car parking facilities to address the current shortfall of parking spaces and the projected increase in parking demand;

  • Address the reduction of designated staff car parking within the existing multi-storey car park located on the corner of Grose and Church Street;

  • Support essential ancillary infrastructure at RPA that is critical to operations and essential to attracting the best talent and staff retention; and

  • Deliver a building that is fit for purpose, responds to its streetscape setting, including heritage context, whilst balancing the challenges/constraints that RPA faces in terms of available land for development
