Council response to key themes


What participants liked

Open space and grassed areas The open space will be retained and grass areas enhanced where possible.
Shade and trees Noted, Shade will be retained and increased with additional trees where possible/appropriate.
Convenient Location Noted, location to be retained.
Play equipment variety The upgrade will incorporate a variety of play elements for various ages.
Community Feel It remains a local park, and we aim to retain the current feel of the park.

What participants would like to see

Improved play equipment The upgrade will incorporate new and modern play equipment.
Fencing & dog management

Playground area will remain a dog-free zone.

All other areas of the park will remain dog on leash.
More seating Additional seating will be incorporated into the design if possible.
Softfall and surface improvements Playground softfall areas will be upgraded as part of this works.
Landscaping maintenance Additional plantings will be incorporated into the park upgrade design where possible.
More shade Shade will be retained and increased with additional trees where possible/ appropriate.

What happens next?

Where possible, the feedback received will be incorporated into the concept plan.

The concept plan will be made available on the Your Say Inner West project page in September 2025 and construction is scheduled for February 2026.

Everyone who provided feedback will be kept up to date with the project.
