Project updates

Project details

Council is proposing to improve pedestrian and motorist safety at this intersection while enhancing the local streetscape. The proposal is based on recommendations from the Marrickville West Local Area Traffic Management Strategy which was endorsed by Council in 2015 following a period of community engagement.

The proposed work includes:

  • Introducing landscaped kerb extensions on Enfield Street near Livingstone Road;
  • Installing kerb ramps on both kerb extensions;
  • Introducing a patterned surface treatment to increase drivers’ awareness of pedestrians crossing the intersection;
  • Planting new tree in the southern landscaped kerb extension;
  • Converting the current ‘No Parking’ zones into ‘No Stopping’ zones; and
  • Painting associated line markings.

This proposal would not result in removal of any legal on-street parking spaces. Vehicle access to adjoining properties will remain.
