About the policy
The policy outlines the Council's commitment to promoting openness and transparency through the release of information held by Council to the public , in accordance with relevant legislative requirements.
The revised policy includes the following changes:
- Inclusion of an objectives section as part of the new Inner West Council policy template
- Detailed explanation of how Council information can be accessed i.e through mandatory proactive release, authorised proactive release, informal or formal release
- Change to the service standard for informal access to information requests from 7 to 20 business days

What happens next?
The feedback received will be incorporated into the final policy which will be considered by Council for adoption at a meeting. All those who provided feedback will be advised when the policy will be considered by Council.
