Project details

Council proposes to upgrade the Carrington Road cycleway in accordance with current standards for cycleway design. We have received concerns about clarity and safety on the cycleway since it was opened in 2014 and minor changes are proposed to provide improved cycling access and upgrade the cycleway consistent with current standards.

Currently the cycleway design requires bike riders to Give Way at side streets even though they are traveling straight ahead along the cycleway. Changes proposed would formalise existing behaviour at the intersections by providing bike riders with continuous access across the intersections of Harriet St, Schwebel St, Ruby St, Warren Rd and Renwick St. There will be no changes to on-street car parking.
