Project details

Inner West Council's framework for supporting community gardens is outlined in the Community Gardens Policy. The policy states 'Council enables community gardens that operate on land it manages through licences or deeds.'

What is this agreement for?

Ashfield Community Garden is a communal space managed by the garden group members who tend to the crops that are grown. Members share the harvest at the working bees.

The licence agreement renewal is between Inner West Council and Ashfield Park Community Garden Association Incorporated, in Ashfield Park.

Inner West Council as Crown Land Manager of Ashfield Park (P500001) intends to enter into a new Licence agreement with Ashfield Park Community Garden Association Incorporated for the purpose of permitting this group to continue to operate a community garden in one section of Ashfield Park, Ashfield.

What is included in the licence?

This Licence agreement is aligned with the updated Inner West Council Community Gardens Policy.

  • The Licence agreement is for 3 years with option to extend for a further 2 years.
  • Ashfield Park Community Garden is located in the northeast corner of Ashfield Park, bordering the rear fence of the Ashfield Bowling Club, near Orpington Street (see map below).
