Council’s Resident Parking Scheme Policy says that at least 50% of properties in the area must support the proposal before it can be considered. Each property gets one vote.

The support rate is the percentage of properties that voted in favour of the scheme, based on the total number of properties in the area.

The response rate is the percentage of properties that submitted a valid vote, also based on the total number of properties.

Due to insufficient support, the proposal will not go ahead.

Council may re-investigate parking issues in this location after a 24-month moratorium period unless there are significant changes in land use around the immediate area.”

Project details

We want your feedback on a proposed change to parking on Manning Street, between Balmain Road and Moodie Street.

Why are we proposing this change?

Council has received requests from residents to look at parking on Manning Street, between Balmain Road and Moodie Street.

We carried out parking surveys in this area. The results showed that parking is often very full, especially during busy commuter times.

What are we proposing?

Council is proposing to introduce a Resident Parking Scheme (RPS) in Manning Street between Balmain Road and Moodie Street. This would mean installing signs that say:

  • “2P 8am–10pm, Permit Holders Excepted, Area R1.”

As part of this proposal, Council must also install ‘No Stopping’ zones at all intersections, if they are not already there, as required by NSW Road Rules.

You can see the proposed changes below.
