36th Battalion Park in Mackenzie Street and Hill Street Leichhardt, is a historic park being the site of the Drill and Training Hall for the 36th Battalion formed in Ashfield in 1921. The park is now used as a space for families and dog owners to gather and enjoy.
As part of our Capital Works Program Financial Year 25-26, Council is spending $250,000 on upgrading this playground. It was chosen due to its aged equipment and deteriorated condition.
