Background
Council has undertaken a traffic study in the south Marrickville precinct to investigate a one way westbound traffic flow proposal in Warren Road between Carrington and Illawarra Roads. The study also looked at other options to alleviate traffic congestion and improve road safety in Warren Road.
How was the study prepared?
The draft traffic study was developed using information from:
Traffic data collected from tube and intersection counts, including peak hour observations made between March and May 2019
Traffic accidents database from the Roads and Maritime Services (RMS)
A review of traffic volumes and speeds, including cars and trucks use in the area
By mail: Inner West Council, PO Box 14, Petersham 2049. Please use the title Warren Road Traffic Study 15/3320
In person: submit your feedback to the Petersham Customer Service Centre, 2-14 Fisher Street, Petersham where you can also view hard copy of the draft Traffic Study 2019.
Hard copy of the draft Warren Road Traffic Study 2019 can also be viewed at Marrickville Library, Corner of Marrickville and Petersham Roads.
Last day to provide feedback is Monday 1 July 2019.
What happens next?
A report, together with the community’s comments and recommendations on the preferred traffic changes, will be tabled for the Local Traffic Committee on 5 August 2019. Council will then consider the Traffic Committee’s recommendations. RMS approval will also be required should Council adopt option A.
