Improvements to wall and cliff area between Ruby Street and High Street, Marrickville

Council and NSW Trade & Investment (Crown Lands) are currently considering listing the land between the southern end of High Street and the northern side of Ruby Street, Marrickville as a park. Currently listed as a road, the land has a heritage listed sandstone wall which was built during the depression and is a safe place for small native birds. Once the land is listed as a park, it will be vested in Council as community land. To maintain the area and support biodiversity, Council plans to work with the community to plant shrubs and trees.

There would be no change to parking or traffic conditions as a result of the area becoming a park.
