Project details

Council has developed a proposal to introduce angle parking in Pile Street to increase the number of on-street parking spaces and address residents’ concerns about parking availability. These concerns were raised in a petition sent to Council in August 2016. The proposal would create approximately 20 new parking spaces on the northern side of Pile Street between number 98 and 114. There will also be painted islands at either end of the angle parking zone to provide a safe transition to regular parallel parking.

Angle parking was investigated for the entire length of Pile Street, between Wardell Road and Livingstone Road, however the shape of the road, height of kerbs and location of large trees makes it unsuitable outside the proposed area. All other existing on-street parking restrictions will not change.

Have your say

Complete the form below to provide feedback on this proposal. The last day to provide feedback is Friday 18 November 2016.

What happens next?

Council has not yet made any commitment to change parking in your street. All feedback will be reviewed and included in a report to the Local Traffic Committee on 1 December 2016. The recommendations from this Committee meeting will then be referred to Council’s meeting on 28 February 2017 for its consideration.

When are the works planned for?

The works are planned for this financial year, depending on the outcome of the engagement process, final approvals and funding allocations. Residents will be notified of a commencement date for any proposed works.
