Newtown Playgrounds Upgrade


Marrickville Council is upgrading four playgrounds within Newtown. These include Alice Street playground, Matt Hogan Reserve playground, Darley Street playground and Norton Russell playground. 

The upgrades include:

  • New playground equipment
  • New concrete paving and safety rubber softfall
  • New fencing, water fountain, seating and painting
  • New turf, garden beds and tree planting.

When?

The upgrade works will commence in July 2014 and is expected to be completed in October

When?

The upgrade works will commence in July 2014 and is expected to be completed in October 2014, weather permitting. The hours of work will be 7am-5.30pm Monday-Friday.

Construction commencement dates:

Norton Russell Playground – Late July

Darley Street Playground – Early July

Alice Street Playground – Early August

Matt Hogan Reserve – Early September

The playgrounds will be closed to all public use during construction, with the exception of Matt Hogan Reserve where access will be maintained as much as possible during the upgrade.
