The elected Council decided to create the GreenWay Local Democracy Group (LDG) and we are now seeking to appoint 10 community members to the group.

The GreenWay LDG will run until September 2028 and will be governed by a Terms of Reference (ToR). The draft ToR is scheduled to be considered for adoption by Council at its meeting on 25 August 2026.

The purpose of the GreenWay LDG is to:

• Contribute to achieving community outcomes as set out in the Inner West Community Strategic Plan and implementation of Council’s four-year Delivery Program
• Provide input into development and implementation of Inner West policies, strategic plans and/or programs as related to the GreenWay as requested to enhance the GreenWay ecological corridor and rebuild vegetation structure and density and align with biodiversity goals and objectives in Council’s Biodiversity Strategy 2036.
• Serve as a resource for Council in relation to matters which Council resolves to bring before the LDG for input
• Provide input into the development and implementation of the GreenWay Plan of Management
• Provide input into the development and implementation of the Vegetation Management Strategy
• Provide input as requested into the strategies to increase community engagement and volunteering along the GreenWay.

Applicants should demonstrate:

• Experience in environmental initiatives, actions or local environmental groups.
• Knowledge and understanding of the local environment, environmental issues and sustainability.
• A connection to the GreenWay and live, work or study in the Inner West local government area.
