Improving safety for pedestrians and traffic in Hill Street, Marrickville

Thank you for your submission. This engagement has now closed

Council is proposing to construct two sets of speed reducing cushions with kerb blister islands at two separate locations in Hill Street (between Livingstone Road and Illawarra Road), Marrickville.

This design was developed during the planning phase of the Riverside Local Area Traffic Management (LATM) Scheme which has been been endorsed in principal by Council. Following on from this process, more detailed plans are now being developed.

As part of this proposal, some on-street parking will be removed to allow the new kerb islands to be built next to the speed cushions.  The islands work in conjunction with the speed reducing cushions to safely slow the traffic down.

You can see the plan of the proposed work attached here.
