Have your say about planning for the Old Marrickville Hospital Site

The project has now concluded.

The draft Marrickville Development Control Plan 2011 (Amendment No. 3) is now on public exhibition.

The objective

To guide the redevelopment of the former Marrickville Hospital site to accommodate:
  • a range of civic and commercial land uses
  • a public square that fronts Marrickville and Livingstone Roads,
  • with mixed use and residential uses to the north and east, that respond to the adjoining lower density residential areas.
The proposed changes are the result of an extensive process including recent community consultation.

On 25 November 2014 Council adopted revised Masterplan controls for the former Marrickville Hospital site and resolved to publicly exhibit the draft Marrickville Development Control Plan 2011 (Amendment No. 3) to amend Part 9.40.5.8 of the Marrickville Hospital Site – Masterplan Area (MA 40.8).

The revised controls are about

  • Heritage
  • Hospital Lane
  • Building Height
  • Siting and Design
  • Open space and landscaping
  • Traffic, access and parking

    What happens next?

    Feedback closes on 23 January 2015. All the submissions received will be collated into a report to the elected Council. The Councillors will consider the report at a Council meeting and will take the community’s wishes into account where possible when deciding whether to adopt the amendment without changes, with changes or not to adopt it.

    Everyone who provides their email address as part of the submission process will be contacted with the date of that Council meeting.


    What happens next?
